Kabardino – Balkarian State University also known as Kabardino – Balkarian State Medical University.(KBSU). The university was estd in 1925 and it is one of the largest university in north Caucasus region.In 1932 an independent medical college appeared in Nalchik. In 1937, the medical college began to be called the Feldsher-Obstetric Dental School. In 1951, the University became the Nalchik Medical School.In 2007 University gained “European Medal of Gold Quality” competition in the nomination “One Hundred Best Specialized Universities of Russia”. It id one of the oldest and leading medical universities in Russia.
The college has a modern educational and material base in 3 educational buildings. Classes are held in 76 equipped classrooms and classrooms and laboratories, 5 computer classes. There are 2 gymnasiums in the educational buildings, a reading room for 45 seats, 2 assembly halls for 200 and 250 seats, a language laboratory, a modern equipped student’s canteen, a buffet, teaching rooms, psychologist’s rooms, administrative and administrative rooms and support staff. Students live in 2 comfortable dormitories.The educational process employs about 200 teachers, including more than 35 candidates of medical sciences, 3 doctors of sciences. Among the teachers of the college there are honoured doctors and teachers, medical students, honoured education workers. College teachers communicate with leading specialists of the Ministry of Health of the CBD, participate in regional scientific conferences and seminars on topical health problems. Employees of the medical, biological, chemical and pedagogical faculties of the university, as well as medical practitioners with high qualification categories and rich practical experience are invited to conduct classes and give lectures.
University has a perfect environment for study as well as leisure. Students feel like home in this university because of the students associations for different countries so they can celebrate their festivals and feel like their own country. Also, there is separate community for each country which takes part in cultural festival organizes by University. University also organize tournaments for students which helps build the holistic personality development in students. University also have prayer rooms for each religion at the university campus.

Student Life and Hostel Life In KBSU
Students are offered different kinds of rooms; usually two or three students can share the room. The floors for boys and girls are separate. The entire student hostels are under protection of the police during 24 hours. All the students’ hostels and Indian mess are situated in the university campus. In the dorms they have kitchens, laundry rooms, rooms for study from training session, recreation room, gym. All the rooms are provided with the excess to the internet (including wifi).KBSU does its best to create comfortable condition of life for the international students. Students life at KBSU and also the city of NALCHIK itself is friendly has multiple interesting possibilities, and can be quite enjoyable.
KBSU has well organised sports ground within the campus.There are many activities you can participate – sports,beauty contest,intellectual competitions.
