South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky was established as Pedagogical Institute at Richelieu Lyceum in Odessa on 2 May, 1817.Currently, the University is a flagship teachers training university of the southern region of Ukraine with 17 acknowledged scholar schools, 47 specialties for undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral training programmes at 10 faculties, 4 divisions and one institute. Within the period of its existence, more than 100,000 students have graduated from the University and have been employed at the educational institutions of Ukraine; more than 30 graduates worked abroad.
The university collaborates with more than 100 Ukrainian educational institutions and numerous universities in Europe, Asia and America.The University is proud of its sports achievements: 25 Olympic champions, more than 50 champions and winners of European and World Championships, 29 Honoured Coaches and Masters of Sports of USSR, Ukraine, etc.
Medicine study at the Institute of Medicine of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University with its highly professional teaching staff and advanced educational programs, offers students great opportunities in the beginning of their medical career. Leading specialists in separate fields of medical science pass the students their theoretical knowledge and invaluable practical experience during the educational process, develop clinical thinking and skills of medical and diagnostic art starting form the first years of studying.

– PHARMACY
The University is a member of WHO/International Association of Universities/East European Association of Universities/Association of European Universities/International Association of Pedagogical Universities of Central and Eastern Europe/Swedish National Scientific Association/European Council’s Higher Education and Research Committee (Strasburg)/Norwegian-Ukrainian University Alliance.
The major drawback of this University is that it is not MCI approved.So if you want to be a good doctor and settle abroad this is the best place for you.With a very reasonable fees structure,the popularity of this university is increasing slowly but surely among Indian students.
Ranking – South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University is ranked 94 in Ukraine and 6753 in the World.
