About University
Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy (DSMA) was founded on September 15, 1916. Institute acquired the status of State Academy in 1920 and it was confirmed again to Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy (DSMA) in Ukraine in 1994 by the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. DSMA is one of the recognised higher medical educational institutions of Ukraine, widely known centre of medical education and science in our country and abroad. In century-long history the academy has worked long and innovative way up to one of the biggest modern medical institution in Ukraine.
For the years of its existence DSMA has prepared 50,000 doctors, pharmacists and nurses. Nowadays it is one of the prominent higher educational institutions of Ukraine.The academic staff considers constant improvement of educational quality to be the main task corresponding to present requirements. More than 600 teachers (among them 100 doctors and 350 candidates of sciences, 1 academician and 3 corresponding members of National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, help to master extremely difficult, responsible but infinitely grateful speciality at 7 faculties of medical academy (three faculties of general medicine, dentistry, two international and post-graduate studies faculties).The Dnipropetrovsk Medical Academy (DMA) occupies an area of 85 hectares. Academy has 8 academic buildings with a total area of 52000 square meters, in which 608 classrooms, offices and laboratories are located.

Hostel Life in DSMA
There are six hostels of DSMA with a total area about 46000 sq.m. There are all modern conveniences and facilities at the hostels. They are provided with 24/7 security service, the medical centre of the academy, student’s polyclinic, insurance companies provide control of the health and the necessary emergency aid.
The big library stock of scientific, educational and periodic literature provides qualitative theoretical base of educational process.
Sports facilities – The main objective of DSMA is not only to prepare qualified professionals, but also to bring healthy, physically developed, mentally stable, strong spirit and well-built doctors. Sport and social work is a great part of it. The Academy has done a lot to expand and improve sports facilities for students, staff and faculty members and residents.
Sport-base of DSMA includes modern sport complex, which consists of four halls. There are the classes of physical education, fitness groups and sports clubs
